Lessons learned this week.

  • Every little thing we do – whether good or bad; has its own consequences. Believe in good and bad karma.
  • Always be prepared to accept the consequences of your bad actions. You can't get away with it all the time.
  • Don’t expect too much from someone you love. It will disappoint you big time if they fall short in your expectations.
  • Make your girlfriend/wife feel special on a Valentine’s Day. It only comes once a year. Celebrate it as if it’s your last. Make it as memorable as you can. I especially believe that Valentines is supposed to be celebrated every day. But reality check, we don’t give flowers to our love ones every day. So, if you can, send her flowers on this day. It doesn’t matter if it’s as inexpensive as flowers picked from your backyard or as pricey as a bouquet of flowers from a posh flower shop. What matters most for women is the thought of you trying to make her feel special on this day. J
  • Try not to argue when you’re upset. If you do, think multiple times before you say a word. Once uttered, you can no longer take it back. You may apologize, yes. But it’ll never change how you made the person feel when you fall victim of your own monster.
  • Appreciate every little or big thing your partner does. Don’t expect too much because each one of us is unique in our own way. Just because you are more expressive and demonstrative of your love, and he’s not - does not make your love greater than another person’s love. Accept that we all have certain ways of expressing our love towards another person.
  • Be always grateful of the people who never let you down. They're very rare.
  • Pray hard.
  • Find your own brand of happiness. Being happy does not always have to be grand. Look for simple things that can make you happy.
  • Spread the happiness. Try to put a smile on someone's face. Spread the good vibes and don't ever be a liability to anyone!

Have a great week ahead! ☺

On Breaking a bad habit.

I know..

I made a promise to myself and to almost everyone close to me that I'd  quit smoking..

I'm sure most of them noticed that I am "slowly" reverting back to my old ways..

I'm seriously trying not to think about it..

But it's hard to break an old habit..

When something has formed part of your routine and when it becomes part of your system for 8 long years..

It's hard to breakaway from it..

I came across an article which talks about how to break an old habit..maybe I should continue reading up on it.

Maybe, quitting smoking also takes technique - not just DISCIPLINE.

I should think of ways on how not to think of a cigarette whenever I see someone smoking..

Maybe I should think of other things to do when I get up in the morning, when I'm in the restroom, during my idle time.. during my short break time and during all those times when I cant think of any other thing to do but smoke.

Other people crave for coffee in the morning...
Other people read magazines when they are all by themselves in the restroom..
Other people sleep during lunchtime in the office..
Other people chat with friends on the phone or in person during their idle time..

All these they do.. when I feel an urge to smoke.

I better find good diversions.

The clock is ticking.

I need to stop now.

On Planning our Ilocos Trip.

Erick and I are so excited to go to Ilocos. (Saying we're just excited is an understatement!) We are so thrilled to finally put the plan in place. We are still not certain of the dates yet but over the past days, I have started gathering information on itineraries that would be ideal for our upcoming trip. In addition, I have listed contact numbers of prospective/recommended tour guides  from different blogs around the web. I am also currently looking for budget-friendly accomodations and hopefully, everything will be ironed out before the month ends.

I'll definitely give credit to all the bloggers who have given helpful information in materializing this travel experience. Advance gratitude to y'all! ☺

All the DIY Ilocos travel information is indeed helpful! ☺

See you real soon, Ilocos!

Things I would have done had I known..

Had I known that I wouldn’t be able to pursue Law, I would have chosen a more in-demand course in UP…

Had I known that it feels so good when you travel, that it’s not as pricey as I think it was, I would have chosen travelling over gambling. I have wasted my time, money and youth over the years when I could have enjoyed it in travelling locally and overseas...

Had I known that I’ll be stuck in a call centre, I would have accepted administrative jobs before I even shifted to this industry to somehow give me an idea on how it feels to have a normal job – something related to my course and experience when I was doing my Practicum..

Had I known that March 11th 2011 would be the last day I’d see the father of my son, I would have taken a lot of pictures of him with Nyx so I have a lot to show Nyx when he starts asking questions about his dad. Also, I would have asked him why he planned on leaving us for good. I would have said “Sorry” too for all the pains I’ve caused him. I wish him all the goodness in life. I’m glad that I have Nyx now. I would never trade it for anything.. I just wish and hope he has found his own happiness too. ☺

No more bitterness. I have moved on and I am definitely happy now with Erick and I’m so glad Erick came in my life at just the right time. ☺

Had I known that I’d gain this much weight after giving birth, I would have controlled my diet ever since.. (baka sakaling di ako ganito kalaki kung ginawa ko un dati pa.. )
Had I known that my dad would be laid off from work even before my siblings would graduate, I would have meddled in their finances na even before pa… baka sakaling may natira pa sa separation pay nya at hindi sa akin nakasalalay ang lahat (I’m not complaining, just ranting! Hehe ).. :p

Had I known that my future partner would hate smoking as much as he does now, I would not have tried smoking. Period.

Had I known that sooner or later, I would need to send my brother to college, I would not have postponed it. Sana ginawa ko na 3 years ago pa. Ganon din naman. Ako din pala magpapa-aral sa kanya.

Had I known that I’ll be with Erick din naman pala, I would have pursued him 3 years ago when we were still working in the same company. Sana di na ko dumaan kung kani-kanino pa. He was single for 4 years, I guess. He was just waiting for me siguro.

☺On second thought, naisip ko.. edi sana wala si Nyx.. kaya OK na din siguro that he came at just the right time. ☺

I’m not regretting anything because every little thing that happened in my life made me the person I am now.

I am the strongest woman I know.

When Nyx came in my life, I never thought I can be as strong as I am now.

I wouldn’t be as strong as I am now if not for those mistakes. I’ll just try to make wiser decisions moving forward. I’ll try to be a better partner to Erick, a better mother to Nyx and a better person in general. ☺

God is good to me and to my family and I feel so blessed for having Erick and Nyx in my life.

Monday Morning.

On Monday, we woke up around 3 AM kasi Nyx and I slept around 5 PM the day before. I'm sure di na nasurprise si Erick na maaga kami nagising. Erick lacked sleep kasi he slept around 9 PM na tas he woke up na din when we got up pero he remained patient and understanding.

We've been planning to have an early breakfast in DonGalo's kaya we opted to go there muna kasi nga this is supposed to be open 24 hours. It was past 5:00 AM na when we left the house. Surprisingly, we tried to call for assistance kasi the place was open, pero wala namang sumasagot after numerous attempts. So, we decided to just make Nyx happy and go to Jollibee instead.

Here are some of the pictures taken in Jollibee. ☺

This was what we had for breakfast. Nyx particularly ordered Spaghetti. ☺

Nyx striking a pose in front of the counters. ☺

Mommy and Nyx striking a pose! ☺

Nyx's epic pose with Jollibee. ☺

Sabi ni Nyx, "Toast!"

After breakfast, we went straight home and stayed over Nanay Puring's house. We watched "The Mistress" for the second time and I still liked it especially Nanay kasi it was her first time. Erick enjoys staying there kasi there's Wifi. We have been planning to get our own Wifi kaso its always postponed dahil nagkakatamaran. Magkakatotoo din yan. ☺

We went home around 12 noon, ate lunch then went to bed na. ☺

It was a good day.

I'm looking forward to a great week ahead! ☺

A reunion with an old friend.

Last Saturday, I finally got the chance to meet up with a good friend again. She suffered from Aneurism 7 years ago.

The last time I saw her, she couldnt recognize anyone. She lost speech and motor skills. Basically, she went back from infanthood. It was not a good sight. She flew to Italy with her Mom for fast recovery.

I'm glad kasi when I saw her again after 7 long years, there was a huge difference. She remembers everything na from highschool days and it was great kasi nakikipagkwentuhan na sya samen ni Con.

We had a good laugh and she revealed herself in a way. I was appreciative and it meant a lot to me. At first, I felt awkward kasi I didnt know how to treat her, pero as we went along with the tsismisan, I realized I shouldnt give her special treatment kasi she'll feel different. So I treated her the same way I treat my other friends. I was so careful kasi when she opened the gate for us, she instantly told us not to laugh at her. I never did and I hope in a way, I was able to make her feel nothing has changed. ☺

She looked sad when we said we couldnt join her for Bible study. She said we were only making excuses. I just really had to be home ahead of Erick so I had to leave after lunch. Sana may next time pa so we can really catch up. ☺

We took one picture and I'll post it here some other time. ☺

Wishlist.

I am so excited to have a laptop, camera and a reliable internet connection of my own.
My blog looks so boring without pictures.
The year has just started and we don’t want to tap on our savings just YET.
I keep telling myself that all these can wait.
I just have to be more PATIENT, I guess.

(Paging Mr. Erickson Legaspi! ☺)

Flu, Flu.. Go Away!

Yeah right! I want this flu to go away. I havent been feeling OK since last weekend and I feel bad that everything is being affected. Partly the reason why I opted to go with Erick in Batangas was because I dont want my son to catch this flu. I have clogged nose and since my work is all about talking, its kinda hard for me to converse with my customers. What makes it worse is it turns them irate sometimes! :(

I just wish I'll be ok tomorrow.

Erick aint feeling good din.

I miss Nyx a lot..

We just literally slept in Batangas. I cooked for our lunch, washed the dishes, changed clothes then headed off to dreamland.

We woke up a bit late than planned kasi nga we werent feeling good.

Atleast, I came in at work on time.

I have to have lesser contact with Nyx kasi its harder kung mahahawa sya.. he has the tendency to develop an asthma kasi when he has cough and colds. So, I have to be more careful.

Tomorrow will be a better day!
Take care everyone! ☺

Note to self: Try not to smoke today. Ok?!

A Weekend Spent At Home.

When I got home from work on Saturday, I’m glad to see Nyx walking around the neighbourhood which only means na magaling na sya. I let out a sigh of relief. I was too worried on my way home kasi my mom was not picking up my calls (and Erick’s calls) while I was calling her from work. I’m so glad it wasn’t anything serious. It just got me thinking that maybe he was so stressed out with our lessons the past consecutive days so nagkasakit sya. So, to free myself from this guilt, I spared him from these lessons muna during the weekend. I allowed him to play, watch TV and be as free as he can be while having our precious relax-time together as a family.
We had not much activity during the weekend. While I was waiting for Erick on Saturday, I decided to have a general cleaning of our room. I don’t normally do this kasi I’ve always had someone do it for me. Siguro quarterly or three times a year pero this is very unusual kaya when Erick arrived, I bragged what I did right away. I was super tired na so while we were watching TV, I unexpectedly dozed off. Erick was understanding enough not to wake me up anymore. By the time I woke up, Erick and Nyx was asleep na. So I just had my quick shower then slept again. What a great Saturday that is!
On Sunday..
We attended the 9:00 AM mass as usual, went for a quick walk then headed home. Our original plan was to meet with my high school bestfriends for a play date with our kids kaso I thought Nyx needed some rest pa plus Erick had flu, so it didn’t push through. I was also not feeling good na at this time din so Erick and I just slept.
Di ako nakatulog kagad so I decided to watch “One More Try”. I was so impressed with the story line. Very seldom to nangyayari kasi I’ve always thought na Filipino movies have similar plot and its very predictable. I can only name very few Tagalog movies na super like ko. So I highly recommend that you try watching this movie. I plan on making a separate blog entry about that. ☺
It was Monday na when Erick and I realized that it was our monthsary pala nung Sunday. We weren’t able to celebrate pero I’m so glad that we are now 8 months together! ☺Im so hopeful na magtagal kami kasi we’re kinda starting to build our lives together. Sayang naman kung maghihiwalay pa kami. To date, I’m glad na were still both happy with each other. Though madalas kaming mag-away, the “making-up” part is always sweet and it only proves na were still so in-love with each other! ☺
Tomorrow, Tuesday, I’ll come with Erick sa Batangas. We’ll just basically spend the day there, sleep, then head back to work. Atleast, napagbigyan ko sya na umuwi sa Batangas. I’ll surely miss Nyx kasi one day ko syang di makikita. Haaay!
Sabi nila, relationship is not a one-way street. So, give and take lang yan. Papahiram ko muna si Erick sa parents nya.. ☺
Stay positive guys!

Friday, February 1, 2013

Not my usual Friday.

This was a productive day for me.  I got home around 930 AM, played and gave Nyx his bath first then went out to meet a good friend from high school. She will be leaving for Singapore before the month ends and I’m so proud of all her achievements in life so far. Despite all her outstanding merits, she remained humble and down to earth.  It always feels good to surround ourselves with positive people because it attracts all the positive energy we need to move forward in life. We had a good laugh and we shared stories about our common friends. It’s really nice to be with the people we grew up with sometimes kasi it reminds us of how we were like when we were younger. ☺

Anyway, I got home around 1230 PM and I found Nyx waiting for me by the doorstep.

He was a bit mad na hindi ko sya sinama. The original plan kasi was to let him come with me kaso when I went out after giving him his bath, super init sa labas and I was too protective of his skin kasi super sensitive nga. So un na nga, I left him at home na lang.

We started our usual lessons and it made a whole lot difference kasi this time, I was teaching him sa sala with the whole family. He was not taking it too seriously so retention wasn’t as good as when we were having our lessons privately in my room. So next time, lessons will be held only in MY ROOM. J

Erick arrived around 230 PM and I joined him for lunch. This does not usually happen kasi I usually eat ahead of him. We went upstairs, had some kulitan with Nyx then we dozed off na. J

Nga pla, I decided not to push thru with the Cebu flight so I didn’t pay it kasi I have read many blogs and it suggests na its best if we go for Cebu-Bohol trip so return flight should be departing from Tagbilaran so it won’t be too pricey. I’ll just stand by for more promos. I’m sure I’ll catch a good one pretty soon. J

I wasn’t feeling good when I left the house kasi Nyx had slight fever then. It may be due to colds or the weather. I hope he’s ok na by tomorrow. Sana naman hindi to dahil na-stress sya sa lessons namin. I hope I’m not being too hard on him. L

Our initial plan was to spend the weekend in Batangas (Erick’s family house), due to Nyx’s condition, we might not be able to push through with the plan. Lately kasi napapadalas ang labas nya. So most likely, we’ll end up staying at home  during the weekend then Monday morning, Erick and I may just spend a day in Batangas. I hope Nyx will get well soon.

This was definitely not my usual Friday.

I hope a great weekend will make up for it. :)

Have a great weekend everyone! ☺
